hey guys iam looking for some input of the pros and cons on using a holley street dominator dual plane intake on my 84 with a 350/260hp goodwrench engine and stock cc 4bbl q-jet carb the intake was a freebie that my neighbor gave me he got from doing a 305 350 swap on another el camino its in really good condition and has all the stuff for emissions egr and such but the holley intake does not appear to come with a heat sheild under the manifold like my stock manifold any experienced input will be appriciated thank you

Nice freebie. The street Dominator is a dual plane intake, So thats a plus.
Not sure if the one you have is a spreadbore for your Quadrajet, If not I would run it with a carb adapter.

Intake manifold.

Do you have to pass smog laws where you are? If not, A Holly carb would be much more tunable than the q-jet. Most if not all of your stock equipment will work with the right q-jet replacement holly carb. If your concerned about fuel mileage, buy a dash mounted vacuum gauge and keep an eye on it as you drive.:wink1:
