Sorry, got crazy with the post button...
Quarter turn fasteners will work both as hold downs on the top edge and in shear on the sides. I'd recommend at least four fasteners/latches of whatever kind you decide on - two across the top like you laid out for hood pins and two more on the lower corners just ahead of the doors.
thanks, my original plan was to use the quarter turn/ dzus fasteners but I moved away from that when Killer was painted.

You might check a shop that sells marine hardware. We use stuff like that for the mast stays.

Hello JK,

some sort of latch release that would not be exposed on top,
a Flat latch that you can reach your fingers Under and lift up to release?

fiberglass Hood? Attachment with short hair bonded to under side of hood.

I found these laying around thinking I’d use them someday

thanks old bear👍

I could make some brackets located here on there respective sides. Might be able to access with the doors open, no room between the windshield and cowl though View attachment 131505
Found this thread 2 months after the fact, don't know yet if you have made your final decision. The circled areas, plus what an earlier poster said about using electric releases, plus another that mentioned inside the door jam, is what I am thinking.
