How is the little plastic chrome piece to be installed in the horn pad of a 78 Elk? I've broke 2 of them trying to install it.

Not sure which wheel you have, but in general you should remove the screws that hold the pad to the wheel and insert the trim with the pad off the wheel.

Also use a heat gun to warm the pad and make it more pliable (but don't warm it up too much...).

Thank you. I didn't warm up the pad, I'll have to give it a try.

Thank you again. Here's a picture of the steering wheel. I understand that I don't want to get it too hot, any idea how I can tell when it's warm enough?
