Thank you for your information. Mine isn't doing it unless I hold the accelerator down for no a bit then let up. Any idea what I need to adjust to get mine to work that way?

I watched the video again and concentrated on the screw adjustment tonight. He said to turn the screw down clockwise 1 full turn clockwise once it connected. I made that adjustment and the IAC was reading 60. So I made more clockwise turns at a quarter of a turn. At each quarter of a turn it dropped down 5 %. I did this several times while the engine was running until I got it under 10%. Then I shut the engine off. I then restarted it and it was back to 40% on a warm engine and didn't lower when running. This what I'm struggling with, that it doesn't stay where it said it was when it was running. The engine was idling great the whole time.

Thank you very much for your help, its much. The idle is always in the neighborhood of the but fluctuating a bit. I didn’t notice the TPS. I’ll check it tomorrow. Is the IAC part of the new Sniper EFI system? If it is it’s brand new and broken.

I may have figured out the problem. I was looking at the setup and seen that the shop didn’t put in that it had a street strip cam. I set it up for the street strip cam and the IAC dropped under 10.

I was told to check the vacuum lines and the PCV valve. I know I was told how to by pulling the PCV hose off the throttle body and plug it. Then start it and check the IAC reading. I did it today and it went to 0. So I got another PCV valve for the valve cover. After I got it connected the numbers went the same direction as before so adjusted the screw and got it down under 10. I restarted it a few more times and it seemed to stay under 10. I will start it again tomorrow and see if the numbers are the same as they were today. Thank you to everyone that has been helping me make it better. Hope to get it on the road tomorrow.

Motor vehicle Rim Auto part Gas Nut

Here's a picture of the Sniper EFI throttle lever. You can see the 3 small holes in the lever to the right side of the bolt that fastened the arm to the Sniper. Are any of these holes good for the cruise control cable to it?

The 78 El Camino ran great on little road trip. I had a couple issues though. The fuel tank vent didn't work today. I had filled right after I picked it up from the shop with no issues. This is the first time it's happened since I put the tank in in 2005. The second issue was that the IAC number was high after I got home shut it off, opened the garage door and restarted to drive it in. I'll have to start it again today and see what happens.

no
Cruise control like the throttle pulls on the linkage, so it will want to be up near where the throttle cable connects, you might consider something like holley PN 20-36 - not sure if it will work exactly as you need but is much closer.

I started up the 78 El Camino again today. It struggled to start because it wasn't spinning fast enough. I didn't touch the accelerator, but it started. I got it warmed up to the temperature of 190*. I then shut it off and restarted it right away. The engine temperature was at 156*. I found that interesting that the temperature dropped that much in seconds. The IAC dropped from 80 to 60. I ran it a little and tried adjusting the screw after a little adjustment the TPS showed the number 1. So I made a little adjustment with the screw and got it back to 0. I shut it off and restarted right away and it started the same way poorly. The temperature dropped to 162*. The IAC was at 40. I adjusted the screw abit and the TPS number went to 1 so I adjusted it back to 0. I ran it awhile then shut it off and restarted right away. It started like it's supposed to and the engine temperature was 192* and the IAC was at 8. I don't understand why the readings are changing so much between start ups. This is an interesting puzzle to me. Just wanted to share what happened.

How do I reset the program for the Sniper EFI system on the hand held unit? I can't see anything in the manual. If it's there please give me a page number. Thank you.

Follow the TPS & IAC settings as directed in the YouTube video. Then drive it so it can learn. As you drive it, through a variety of speeds and levels of acceleration the Sniper will analyze O2 sensor and water temperature data any build a fuel map specific for your truck. If the weather's nice drive it

You must have a 190° thermostat. The reason for the temperature drop is probably the thermostat opened and cooler radiator fluid came in contact with the sensor

78, From what I’m getting out of this conversation is you set it up and drive it some miles and it learns you motors requirements. Just starting and stopping it is not going to do it. Driving it loads the motor and heats it differently. I would say 50 miles of highway and in town driving before making another change.
