Installation of the Sniper EFI system process

Next week I will try to get the new fuel pump and sensor in the fue tank. I plan to bolt the fuel pump on the sensor, if that’s the correct location for it.

My son was here on the 2nd of April and told me he really liked the Sniper EFI system on this engine he built.

Is it possible to shorten the TV cable by moving the ball on the end back some so I can put the TV cable in the 2004r setting instead of the the 350 transmission spot, where it is now?
Go back and look at the video that was posted above. You will see that you can shorten it. When I installed the 200r4 in my '67 the builder included the kit to adapt to my Holley 750. The cable comes out almost horizontal. Yours is on quite an angle. I don't know if that is a problem or not, but lots of people say you need get the geometry right. would check with Holley and see if they have a specific adaptor for your set up.
My adapter has the throttle cable connected to it.
What tells me if the Sniper EFI system learned anything?

not sure you can see it from the handheld, but if you use the software from holley you will find a learn table which shows the changes the system makes to the base fuel map. This is an old one from my El Camino.

Thank you very much. I'm going to try to get it and learn from it. Your help is much appreciated.
I went to 4 auto parts stores and a hardware store trying to find an extension for the Sniper throttle bolt so I could hook up the cruise control. I found no answers of what to add to the bolt so I could connect the cruise control up. So I'm going on have to figure put it on and work.

Here is what you had before.

Here is what you have now

Take the screw and nut off your carburetor and put in the same place on your sniper

Here is a photo of how I have my cruise control attached to my carburetor, if putting it in the same place as before doesn't work, you should be able to do something similar to what I have done. I used the wire loop from my kit too loop around the throttle stud.

Thank you very much for your help. I'll check the hole that you have circled and see if I can make a connection. I was trying to add on to bolt that the throttle cable is connected to.
If you have this part I circled in red left in the parts from your cruise control install, you can just put the loop around the throttle stud, that's what I did.

I just looked and it won't work in that hole due it will hit the throttle linkage.
What did you use to loop it over throttle pin? This is a Rostra cruise control system.
The Rostra and the Dakota Digital are the same thing. I have Dakota Digital.

I'll take your word for it not working in that hole as it looks like plenty of clearance in the photo.

Remove the ball chain currently on the cruise control, don't lose it.
In the installation kit is a wire with a ball on one end and a loop on the other.

Put the ball in the little pull chain barrel fitting on the cruise control end
Take the throttle cable off the stud
Put the loop over the stud
Put the throttle cable back on the stud and over the loop.
I like to put a zip tie around the cruise control loop cable and the end of the throttle cable, not too tight, look at the photo of my setup.
You may need to tweak your bracket some to get the pull length and angle correct.

Here's what my cable and ball chain looks like. I have a longer ball chain I can use. Where would I get a cable at? I just had a thought if I could find a bigger loop with the fitting that connects on the ball chain, that might work also.

Maybe Summit will price match it.
Thank you very much. I'll check it out. Your help is much appreciated.
I feel stupid. I just found these parts that came with the used Rostra cruise control unit I bought.

I could put the cable on it or maybe the flat piece with the hole in it. Which is the best way to go,in your opinion?

Good job finding that stuff! I prefer the cable. I tried the flat piece with the hole in it first. The cable is very forgiving as to angle and height. Be sure to leave just a tiny bit of slack in the line.

Thank you very much for your help. I'll install the cable first. Thank you again very much.
Will it be okay to put it on the side of the throttle were the nut is? Will it need to have a tube for the cable to get through?
