I've installed a 350/290 hp (with 330 HO cam) in my EC. Should I change out the knock sensor and ESC module? When I looked at part numbers on the Auto Zone web site, the same knock sensor for the 305 is also used on everything from 4 cyclinder motors to several V8's. Because of this, I havn't changed it out yet. However, the Monte Carlo web site says these have to be changed with an engine swap. If they do need to be changed, does anyone have a part number to be used. One site i looked at said that the L69 motor used a knock sensor that allowed more timing advance. Is that true?

i have been doing some research myself . it appears the sensors are different something about a tone that comes off them a separate dynamic or harmonic vibration . this has come off old post from gen3 , corvette sites and team chevelle. as far as more timing i haven't ran across anything on that...Yet
