Today’s shenanigans
Stayed late after work..
Plugged all the holes from the roof rack with rubber plugs. Ugly but effective..finally tackled the passenger side valve cover gasket..NO FUN..
Had to remove heater hoses so those were replaced with new Gates hoses. Swapped out the clutch fan assembly for a 17” Flex-A-Lite nylon flex fan with 2” spacer..new 180* thermostat and flushed radiator AGAIN..cleaned years of nasty junk from under valve cover.. and scraped all the yuck off the exhaust manifold…was a long night but hopefully it won’t smoke show anymore..
I’ll pressure wash it in the next day or 3 😎🏁

Wagon Update
Took Dirt Dobber on a 90 mile drive today. Interstate 75 and 15 city.. Gas mileage 16.9
Not bad for a cobbled together distributor.. a dirt track quadrajet and setting everything by ear.. no timing tab as this was a ccc power train.. no vacuum gauge either on the carburetor..

Is that a heavy class two hitch with angle or c section steel running about 2 feet on side frame rail to a cross bar with a 2 inch undercar receiver.
With the three long pieces of steel bolted and welded to the frame?

The side parts bolt to the frame and the cross bar bolts to those.. we are only pulling a 4x8 utility trailer.. just put in air shocks last week.. it should be fine..

Are we helping get a name for the station wagon?
How about Charging Rhino.
Rhinoceros is a wonderful animal.
If it looks at you, you should start backing away.
If they see a risk, they have one response. A full speed accelerating charge right at the risk. They don't stop until the risk is removed.
If you could find a horn that curved backward for the hood?

Dirt Doberman! Hahaha!
I love it
We named it Dirt Dobber because of the many nests under the hood and underside of car.. had one so big I had to bust it to move the throttle when we were trying to start it.. amazingly I drove it home 7 miles once we got it cranked..

Wagon update, last weekend was the test. The air shocks and springs worked great, last minute wiring on the trailer so the lights worked correctly. 140 miles round trip and no issues.. and 14.5 mpg to boot… not bad.. I may just keep it 😎🏁
