115,000 original miles as far as I can tell, original front end components, frame and undercarriage is excellent.
Crappy low compression 882 heads,76cc,2 barrel.
Engine locked up tight...valve train looks good..got the top of engine stripped down...running for sawzall blades shortly.
Engine will be out today.

Previous owner must have had cooling problems...radiator looks excellent, filled with clear green antifreeze.
He added a flex fan without using a fan clutch...bad move.

I'm building an original 1969 396 for later.

Dang, you're getting right after it.

$2500 with shipping sounds like a great deal to me.

How did you get the torque conv bolts loose with the engine locked up?

Pull it with t/c attatched?

Haven't got that far yet..I'm guessing I'll need to separate the transmission while leaving the torque converter attached to the flywheel.
If I need to remove the engine and trans together,I could also do it that way.
Once I get the engine raised slightly,I'll remove the pan and have a look see.
I've already sent marvel mystery oil into the spark plug holes, hoping to free up the pistons.
Could also be a rod bouncing around the bottom end.:nanawrench:
