hello all,i just bought a 1976 GMC sprint,and im trying to gather some info on it.

its mettalic green,has tan interior,full power,including the bench seat.

heres the kicker,its gotta BUICK 455 from A 71 GS rated 390hp & 510 tq stock,its been cammed {it lopes hard} and maybe head work,heads look fresh.
th400 tranny,3.73 reearend with posi.

anybody else seen this kinda swap?

and how rare is a 76 sprint?

much questions guys,this'll do for now btw,if anyone wants pics lemme know,ill post a few.

btw i just bought it saturday :-D

Sounds like a nice ride. The 76 models are not all the rare. I have a 76 Chevy Elky, it's cousin. I've seen several Sprints in that year range. The swap is a little unusual but it is still GM so not a great big challenge there either. You got a good ride, my opinion. The BBB will give plenty of power for the weight of the truck. According to what I've seen and looked up the 76 model years were the heaviest Elkys made. I could be wrong but I don't think so. Weight is rated around 3827 lbs. Give or take a pound or some.
