I figure I better get the November poll done before its December! I usually have a topic that comes from conversations I read on the site but this one comes from a nagging issue I have with parts and labor and even more remanufactured parts. I’m sure most of our members have faced this at one time or another, having to find a good replacement part or rebuilding the parts you have. We all know there are supply and labor issue’s and maybe that’s the simple answer, the question is how we can work as a group to help one another to find the best parts supplier or the best rebuilders. Like a lot of us I have done most of my own work but as I get older it’s getting harder so I have to rely on more people. This topic came to a head with a rebuilt carb that I had done (no not Mountain Man, don’t ask) and now on my 3rd rebuild, I’m also looking into rebuilding my 200R4 and dreading it. That being said I know people have different levels of satisfaction with parts and level of services. Just for instants I have never had an issues with Summit, I have used them for over 40 years but I have heard and read complaints about them. Maybe having a tab on the site for just a topic like this, like the BS Topic tab would be helpful? Ok so as for the November Poll question “what’s the best main course for Thanksgiving”! That's a great idea, and that's our plan also. Putting the turkey on the smoker at 6 am. We just put ours in a salt brine for the night.

With extended family, and a kid with a baby due any second, we already did Thanksgiving, last weekend. And since one kid, and her hubby, are Vegan, it was Impossible chicken for dinner. So in remembrance of all the Italian pilgrims who came to the States, we'll be doing pizza this year, as the baby that was due, decided that Monday was a good day to show up. Or maybe it was the Impossible buffulo chicken wing dip, we aren't entirely sure. So between trips to the Hospital to go see the new mom, and the 21", 8lb 10oz toddler she gave birth to, cooking isn't exactly on the agenda. 🍼😅🍕👍

Most years my wife prepares a fabulous turkey dinner with all the fixings . The other day we were on our way to Highlands State Park in Sebring , Florida and had plans to eat turkey at a local restaurant . Well , the newly installed trans cooler in my Colorado truck pulling the 17 ft. trailer spewed out fluid from the loose hose and I am awaiting news from the shop it was towed to for the bad/expensive news . So for this year at home , we are picking up the dinners from a local restaurant to enjoy . Hey , I figure if this is my biggest problem , I don`t have a problem . So let`s give thanks for what we have and really love

Since no one in our family cares much for turkey or ham, we've always done Mexican food. Usually it's either Chili Verde or enchilada's blanco pollo. Same for Christmas, and we add empandas. I'm originally from Southern California (Huntington Beach/Westminster), so Mexican food for holidays isn't that much of a stretch for us.

Usually do either turkey or ham at my daughter's.. Last year did prime rib.

This year she and her hubby are buying a house but have not closed yet. Most of the kitchen is packed so we got turkey take out from cracker barrel. Not home made but still really good.

I like empanadas. A friend made them and sold them at our Multicultural Concert Series, whenever we had South American music.
I also like English pasties that are a little bit similar. Mom was from Cornwall and it was a treat for youngsters to get the meat and vegetable pies that miners took in their pockets into the mines for lunch.

I am from a family with 6 siblings. It was easier for us to schedule on Saturday. That interferes less with all of those in-laws.

I asked the cat. Do you want "Gobble, gobble, gobble". Forte's ears perked up and the cat that does not want to be touched, licked my fingers. So today, we will have a turkey and Munster cheese wrap. She will get at least half of the deli sliced turkey. I get all the cheese, since it is high in calcium and causes her urinary crystals. On Saturday, I will have to avoid the pecan pie and similar stuff. I will tell Forte, I had to skip the pie for my health. She will cat chuckle and walk off.

Since I'm a single guy, I had baked chicken. And with cranberry sauce.

Unfortunately, the only Cracker Barrel near me in Seal Beach, CA, is over 30 miles away.
