I have an 86' with I believe a 79' 350 and the oil pan gasket is leaking. My question is... can I drop the pan enough to change this while installed? What's the easiest/fastest way to fix properly. And if the pan can be pulled out enough should I change out oil pump or anything else while I'm there? The oil pan has a dent in it from the yard I got it from and I was thinking of changing the pan and gasket if possible without pulling the engine. Appreciate any feedback.

I've taken mine apart by putting a board under the pan jacking it up enough to pull the motor mount bolts, then jacking it up above the mounts. I then put the bolts back in the mounts and lower it back down on the mount bolts. I then removed the pan. I needed the height to get the pan out.
