So I’m a new owner of a 1980 El Camino Super Sport. Although I cannot find where I am supposed to put my oil into the car. Hoping someone on here can help me out LOL.

In ‘85 GM called for 5w30. If yours is a seasoned original or older build, parts store 5/30 or 10/30 should be fine. If it’s a fresh build or new cam and lifters, run Brad Penn, Joe Gibbs or something like them with extra zinc (ZDDP) or you’ll lose your cam lobes and have to start over.

Welcome to el Camino Central..

I use Mobil 1 5-30.. I have over 200,000 using it on different flat tappet cam motors.. I had a lot of foaming issues with Brad Penn..

Oil is always such a diverse topic..
