Discussion Starter #1
I have an 84 Caballero with a GM Crate 350 motor in it. The motor has less than 8000 miles on it. I just drove back from college yesterday and I noticed that my motor was running relatively hot during the trip but just assumed it to be inaccurate because the wire to the gauge runs past my headers. I made it home fine and then this morning when I went out to start my car it turned over about half a rotation and then stopped. Ive had recent problems with my starter and there is a nice sized gash in the flexplate. I just really am hoping that my engine is not seized up. Please respond, any help would be awesome. How would I tell if it is seized up or just the starter? Thanks

how hot was hot??
without knowing how the starter is really acting,, I guess its been starting but noisy??

i'd start by checking the oil for water and water for oil..
when it rolled over and stopped, could be water in the cylinder or the starter??
pull the spark plugs,, check for water,,
put a 5/8 socket/ratchet on the balancer bolt,, see if it will turn over by hand..
