Alright I've been working on the 79 and I've got the interior back in it, and the engine all back together. I repinned the dash for instruments and made a new engine harness. The instruments sorta work but the dimmer for the dash lights seems to make them crazy. they start spinning and freaking out when you turn the dimmer and if you turn it all the way like you would for the courtesy lights all the gauges go to 0. Anybody had/seen a similar issue before? I was thinking maybe some sorta hinky ground somewhere or something maybe? Oh and to just to cut a bunch of you off now I currently have no pics of it because my camera is mia. I'll post a bunch when I find it or get pissed off and get another one.

Brown wire from the headlight switch to the fuse panel (1 side of the instr fuse). Grey wire from the other side of the fuse to the instrument cluster dash lights/ Heat-AC panel light.
