Good luck with that , best that i have seen is P275/60 /15 and they will rub on a hard turn , better have some back space, and you will need to roll the outer finder lip ....

I had some 295's on mine for a while. The problem was that I couldn't carry anything in the bed. Even unloaded, when I hit a small bump, the tires would rub. I took them off and sold em. Its not worth the hassle, to me. I then went to 255-70's and the were a bit better but they rubbed as well. I'm now ruynning 235/70's on the rear and 225/70's on front. It gives me just enough rake and the tires fill out the wheel well. The wheels are 15x7 and 15x8 with 4" back space. Consuelas84(?) Is running 295's but he radiused the inner fender. He said it still rubs but it doesn't cut the tires. You might check in with him.

Read my "sticky" at the top of this sub-forum and you'll see the clearances I have with 275/60's on 8" Rallys. A 295/50 is over an inch wider, according to BFG. There just isn't enough room, unless you plan on running with the rear end high enough to eliminate interference at the wheel opening lips.
Here's a shot of mine with the 275's:

To my eyes the 295's look way too bulbous on a 8" rallye wheel you get something like a 12" tread patch that overhangs the rim 2" on either side and then the bulge of the sidewall.

IMO not a good look - all that said on 10" rallyes - the tires look great.

I have 295/50/15`s on a 15X8 Rally on the 81 Malibu, I did roll the outer wheel well lip.

I tend to agree here..

The Fronts were GR-50/15 and the rears were LR50/15. Don't know what the cross reference is though.

I like 26" 215/65/15 or 215/70/14 tires on the front and 26.5 245/60/15 or if you cant hook a 295/50/15`s on the rear. Now Ive see Malibu`s and El Camino with tall 28" 275/60/15`s tucked in up in the wheel well and it looks good, But most you can see the top of the tire and with the rear end that high it give the Car that Johhy pro stocker look. Thats my opinion.
