My 5th gen no longer has the heater system in it so I have no need for the controls. Wondered what other people have used to fill the hole in the dash if I take them out. Dont really need the vents in the dash either if anyone has an idea for that.

Well, I suppose you could replace the stereo with a double din stereo with a large screen

Double Din Stereo is a good idea, especially if you want to add a back up camera. I've also seen the 3 gauges mounted there ( as well as the gauges mounted where the vents are located).
