Bought a remote solenoid to fix a hot start (heat soak) problem and finally got to installing it and as soon as I hook the battery up it cranks over, so I removed the start wire and hooked the battery back up and the same thing happened. So now with all wires removed, I’m getting continuity between everything including ground. Every post to ground. I know there is windings in the solinoid
That would probably get some continuity but every post to every post including ground ?
I’m thinking it’s defective. Anybody experienced with a remote solinoid ? Help. Any input would be much appreciated

got a part number ?? ... Link ??

should be 2 circuits
power and ground to trigger the solenoid
should have continuity to each other,
and maybe to mount ground depending on the style solenoid..

and
the big battery thru connection when triggered,
that probly should not connect to ground.. that would spark a lot..

some-ting don't sound right..

If its the same latching solenoid I have for my bat. disconnect it sounds like you need to put power to the
latching circuit on the solenoid. What solenoid is it ? I use theCole Hersee # 24200 latching solenoid .I'm not maybe following what you're trying to do .
