Thanks JJ. I haven't tried the cruise yet, but am concerned how to check the speedometer cable that goes through it. How do check that part of the cable? It has apiece that goes from the transmission to the speed sensor. Then the cable comes from speedometer, which connects to the other side of the sensor.
I tried turning it with a drill, it moved, but the cable now is coming apart on the bottom. So I'm going to get a shorter cable. The one that's on it now, has 2 or more feet sticking out under the hood.
I have a 1987 El Camino that needs a new(er) shift lever. None of the usual suspects-Elcaminostore, OPGI, Ecklerx or Classic Chevy have it. Any suggestions? This is a refurb project as opposed to a restoration. Thanx.
My trans broke today, looking to buy complete unit to just swap out. Mine was recently rebuilt locally and either had a part failure or something. We think there is too much metal in the system to try to fix. Would like suggestions on who sells a dependable 200R4 that will handle a 420hp small...
I promised myself (and my wife) several years ago that I’d only have one ”Play Car.” Once upon a time I had a 6,000 sq’ garage that was nicely filled, but at 60 years old I’m no longer interested in being owned by a bunch of cars screaming at me to fix or upgrade this or that...
1966, 582 big block naturally aspirated, 740 ft lbs. at the fly wheel. I am looking for recommendations of a clutch and four speed combo that will handle that and say 1000 ft lbs. once the 671 and methanol get added down the road.
It currently has a turbo 400 reverse manual valve body.
