Had some pretty heavy rain last night and halfway home the speedometer quit. It was a little bouncy once it got above 60 and seemed to be about 8 miles an hour off when compared to my phone. Is there A way to check the cable without taking apart the dash? It's pretty brittle looking. I swear this car knows when I get paid 🤣

It is not easy but you can unhook the cable housing from the rear of the speedometer without pulling the dash. Get a finger on the clip and pull it back a little while pulling the cable toward the firewall.

Had same issue with mine. The Speedo gear in the trans wiped out. They’re only plastic. Common problem. This is what they look like (new). Need to see what color yours is and order that same one.

I did figure out it's the lower, which was replaced at some point so this leads me to believe it probably is the plastic piece gonna yank it out when I get some time and take a look.
