My starter has been grinding so I purchased a Delco remanufactured unit. I disconnected the starter wires. I notice no room to remove the 14mm starter bolts unless I drop the crossover pipe. Is that the standard procedure for one of these Buick V6 equipped El Caminos? Should the crossover 2 bolts and two nuts be any issue to remove? The car came from a dry climate and I sprayed penetrating oil on them but they are still rusted.
