I have a 78 El Camino, it has a motor and trans from an 85. 305ci and I believe the TH350. I noticed my trans has a TV kick cable and a four prong plug that ain't used. I have been informed that to switch, I need a kit to deal with the TV cable, lock out switch, driveshaft shortened, and mod crossmember to go to a 700r4. The trans I want to put in is it if an 88 Camaro z28, could I just use the driveshaft from the Camaro if the length with the trans is the same as mine stock? Second, obviously someone has done this before can I get the link to some build threads? Thank you for your help!

I did the th250c to 2004r in my 84
you will need the cross member for the 2004r I bought an after market one , be sure to get the Frame extender kit as early cars don't have the back holes in frame to mount to.
also you will also need a TV cable kit , if your engine has the kickdown bracket you can use that for the TV cable . I also got a dip stick kit , but after reading threads some say the th250/350 dip stick will work .
oh and don't buy From Monster transmission !!
