I guess I will lead a back roads trip like the last few thru the same areas. We will leave 8:30 ish from the south end of the parking lot of the Alachua Publix. The address is 16193 NW Hwy 441, 32615. There is a gas station in front of the lot and the Publix if you need to stock up on anything .
It is about 28 scenic miles with 8 stop signs ( no traffic lights ) of farms and tree lined 2 lane roads. I will have directions at Miller's in case you arrive after departure time.
We usually have 12 or more Elkys on this cruise, Hope you can join us.

Great to see that the get together looks like it will be another well attended get together . Chuck`s back road tour is well worth joining in to get to the Auto Plus Racetrack . For those of you not doing Chuck`s back road ride , as you enter the gate at the track , we will be off to the far right in a fenced in area reserved by Steve for us . It is close enough to see the ongoing Summit Racing Series but far enough that you can have a normal conversation with others . Steve , Joan and I will get lunch at the track`s concession as we are not positive what time we will get to the track on Saturday . We are still talking with the campground that we are staying at a couple of hours from Gainesville . We have to move our travel trailer early in the morning from our site to a parking lot nearby and then move it to another spot when we get back in the afternoon . We had to make the dates with the park almost a year ago and have family staying at our house . Most every campground is booked up for the year ! For those that will be staying over , remember to get a room reserved as soon as possible .

We are coming to Gainesville and should arrive late afternoon in time to join Y'all for dinner at Millers. I think I got the last room available for Fri & Sat at the Quality Inn. We'll be glad to pay whatever the rate is for Publix chicken lunch and bring our own beverages. What time do most of Y'all plan on leaving Sunday?

I checked Google Maps and my trip from Windermere is only 1 hr 32 min. I got an update from my mechanic saying he'll have my El Camino finished and back to me by the 29th...cutting it close!

Got with Jodee the track mgr to check in & make sure they put a garbage can in the grass VIP area so we can keep that area clean & to tell the gate/ticket people to tell people where the VIP area is

She told me they're having an easter egg hunt for the kids in that same area & said they might rope off some area & I said we can share the area & even can hide some eggs around the wheels of the caminos & maybe around the tent & chairs ?
She said that should be great

Hard to believe it's 3 only days away from the Great Gainesville Get Together ! I hope you all can make it to Friday night dinner and Saturday Get Together at the Gainesville Raceway ! Once again there will be a lunch, this year Fried Chicken Wings, Ziti and Baked Beans. Since we may get people coming from many different groups getting any kind of a count was impossible. Hopefully there will be enough for everyone who interested, please bring your own drinks. I am keeping the price at 10 dollars, hopefully to cover food costs. There is also food at the track or you can BYOL ! Hope to you all there !
