Guys & Gals,

Please join me For the 2023 12th Annual Gainesville Get-Together & 1/4 Mile Run on April 1at at the Gainesville Raceway (Home of the Gatornationals) for a Great day hanging out with friends & seeing a bunch of trucks on & off the race track !!

Gates will open at 8:00 & Racing Starts at 10:00. I should be there Around 9

We will be parked in the pits in the corporate hospitality area (VIP 301) with trees next to the finish line ! So we can be in the shade & watch the racing !!

You can run yours down the 1/4 mile track for some time runs or can join the Summit bracket racing for a chance to win some money
The entry price is $15 spectator & $40 for racing in the Sportsman class.

They will be running the NHRA Summit Series ET Racing

Have the same Hotel this year, It's the Quality Inn for $110 plus tax a night, Regular price for this time a year is $140 a night, He said it's their busy time of the year, Tell them you're with the El Camino Guys, I said most like the ground floor but you should ask them when you call (352) 378-2405

The Baymont we used before is under remodel & not sure when they will re-open, So might check with them ?

For those who are doing the back roads trip we will be meeting at the lot behind the Raceway Gas Station (not the Racetrack) at 16171 US 441 in Alachua. If you exit I-75 at exit 399 and head north it is about 1/4 mile at the light. There is a Publix there too if you need any last minute items.
We try to leave at 9:00 Saturday morning.

Sorry change of plans......wife has been sick but I was still coming to Gainesville but as you might know she has an aggressive form of leukemi and now it seems she has covid too. Well of course I have not shown any signs and have been multiple boosters.
So hate to but must cancel.
Again sorry I was looking forward to it. I've cancelled my res at hotel so don't know if they would be available for someone else.

Sorry to hear Bill. I hope it's a mild case and you stay healthy.
I had a last minute fuel pump and line issue that I thankfully noticed when checking fluids today. My mechanic was able to replace them and I had time to wash and load the Elky for the trip tomorrow.

Good time last night seeing old friends and making new ones! It was a looonnnng trip getting here, 8 hours for a 300 mile journey. I picked up 3 other members along the way and all was good until a 11 mile backup on the turnpike became a buzz killer. 80+ degrees of stop and go tested our cooling systems and Jim and Vicky had an electric fan give out. They limped to the nearby exit and rode a flatbed home. I took an east detour around Ocala and the others rode it out to I-75 and another major backup. They got to the hotel about 15 minutes ahead of me.
Today will be better!

Hope you'll post some pictures so I can at least see what I'm missing.
How was the country cruise this morning....that's my favorite
Wife is doing better and I'm sure because she has had her covid shots. It's was little scary though because she's had lung cancer (in remission) plus leukemia , very rare and aggressive form of , and now covid. We were surprised when we were told. We have been careful but have been relaxing our guard a bit. Well back to masks again.
