GUY'S ANYONE KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I WILL NEED TO CHANGE. IM PULLING THE THM250C, AND AM INSTALLING A REBUILT THM350 WITH SHIFT KIT IN MY 81, 305V-8. THE ENGINE IS MOSTLY STOCK BUT I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT , WHAT FLYWHEEL WILL I NEED OR NOT NEED TO PURCHASE, ALSO WHAT TORQUE CONVERTER SHOULD I GET.
ALSO WILL THE CROSSMEMBER, KICK DOWN CABLE OR ANYTHING ELSE I MIGHT HAVE TO MODIFY.
IM RUNNING AN EDLEBROCK 1407 CARB IF THAT MATTERS.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

Flywheel and starter will work fine. Crossmember should be a direct bolt up. With the 305 I would stay with a stock converter. Carb should be fine.

welcome Dean

Swap the Cooler Lines at the transmission..
TH200C Metric, 2004R
Upper Cooler feed/out
Lower Return/in

TH350, TH250
Upper Return/in
Lower Cooler feed/out
.
my trans length guide shows the T200c is 5/8" longer
than a 6" tail housing T350..
so double check the Drive Shaft Fit..
normally you want about a inch on the slip yoke..
T350 do come in a 9" and 12" version tho..
.
x2
the trans mount is in the same location..
.
do you have a TorqConverter??
if not make sure its for a T350 and not a T350c, there different..
if that's what you have??

Now, ow do I decide, on the right torqe converter? The engine so far, all i have done is swap the original cast intake and quadrajet, to an edlebrock 2101 and 1407 carb. with the addition of dual exhaust....

a lot of math..
or call a Converter Store, they will have a BIG list of questions..
start with how much torque the motor makes, and when in the rpm band,,
trans gear ratio, rearend ratio, car weight, future up-grades??
the same converter will act different, behind different motors, in different cars..
not too much, or it will be slipping [making heat] at cruise going down the hiway..

Converter also likes to mate with you rear differential as most stock rear gears are in the 2:42 range
