I have limited experience with any wiring. I keep blowing fuses with my 81 turn signals. Where are the ground wires located? What should I be looking for which could cause this problem? It's my daily driver so I'd like to resolve this ASAP

Start at the rear. Look just inside the drivers side rear tire. Sometimes the harness will come unclipped and rub the inside of the tire. Follow the harness back looking for any rubbed or chaffed spots. Pull the bulbs one at a time and check to see if it still blows. Front start at the bulk head connector and inspect the harness all the way to the lights. Pull the bulbs one at a time and recheck. That should hopefully turn up the problem.

Electricity travels in a circle. Battery-switch-bulb-ground-battery. If you have a bad ground anywhere, bulb doesn't work. To blow a fuse takes power, there's effectively none after the bulb, any short to ground being exactly no different to a ground. So any blown fuses mean over-current on the circuit before the bulb or at the bulb.

When you're chasing the wiring harness under the hood, remember the front corner markers are connected to turn signals. Wire runs through a cutout in the inner fender to the lights.

Don't forget the steering column and instrument indicators when you inspect the wiring.
