Hello,
I need some help about the upper radiator hose.
This one was installed when I did get the car.

I would like to replace this old hose.
Did order a new one but looks like if it will not fit.

Does anyone know where I can get the old style one. Or should I just bend the new one so that it fits? Don't think it is the right way.

Looks like you got an upper radiator hose for a '68 - '70 SB with an automatic transmission. You need the '68 - '70 BB hose.

This is the hose I did order.
upper hose from NPD

Sorry that I didn't mention it in the first post.

Is there someone who has also and 69 el camino ss with an big block and could make a picture
how it looks on his car and let me know which hose I should order.

Because in the moment I have two which do not work.
The first one I did order with the new motor did not fit
and now this one.

Perhaps I should go with one of thees terrible

Thank you for the help so far.

This are the two hoses I would like to order. Hose 1 Hose 2

But on the Hose1 I am wondering if it will fit because on the radiator and at the motor the diameter for the hose is 39mm.
And the hose has on one side 38mm and on the other side 32mm and I am not sure if it will fit on the neck with 39mm.

Will it fit a 1.25 " on the 1.5" hope you understand what I am talking about.

I did a lot of searching for hoses with my swap, so I know the pain. I'm looking at the pic and I've gotten better a tetris problems so tell me what that hose on top flipped over and cut approx. at the GM stamp would look like. This is just going on a pic but worth a try. I may be way off but from my screen it looks close. Good luck!

EDIT I think I read it backwards..

I think I would try the 1st new hose you had,
it seems to be the right one, and its 1.5 on both ends..
sometimes you can twist the hose on the pipes and it fits better..
I think it will bend around to fit..
like these 2

.
putting a 1.25 hose on a 1.50 outlet may work for a while,
but I'm not sure I would trust it to last..
that may be your problem now, not sure..

In my defense I did say it looks close on my screen and I was just goin by the pic. I still think the shape would be real close if it was just turned over, not swap ends just turned over and shortened at the radiator end.

Let me do some digging. When I replaced all the goodies in my ‘68 SS folks recommended a hose for (I think) a later BB Monte Carlo. Let me see if I can come up with a part #.

Well... I can’t find a part # for what I actually used, but I’m 99% sure that the hose was spec’d for a ‘70 to ‘72 big block Monte Carlo. If I remember correctly it was a bit longer than the Chevelle/El Camino hose and it fit perfectly.

Hello all,
just want to give you an update. I did get now the other two hoses.

Attached some pictures and I think I will go the one on the right side.

it is flexible so I think it will fit without cutting. 👍

This is the Monte Carlo hose looks also not to bad

Looks like it will fit the other way.
