Hi Been trolling around looking for information about this issue, keep getting 404 errors just when i think i found the solution. I've read a ton of posts so I'm thinking I got a understanding but I just want someone to verify for me.

A V6 tach starts the red line at 4400 ish.

A V8 tach starts the red line at 5000 ish.

Are these two statements true.

IF they are then this would be a tach for a V6?

This was discussed not terribly long ago but I can't seem to find the thread. Several members who have bought new and still have their El Caminos have the 4400 rpm redline with the factory V8.

I'm sure some will post up.

Are those monte guages?!?!? I like them! My origional tach in the 84' redlines at i think 4800 or 5000. It first came with a 305 V8. And i might be wrong but i think the V-6 & V-8 have the same tachs for each year of car
