I can purchase a 355 shortblock sbc but my question is can i add a set of vortec heads ???

Engine block is a 80' model block

Yes, Vortechs are a bolt-on, but you will need a dedicated intake manifold, as the bolt pattern is different.

they are a direct bolt on and make good power. i have the edlbrock performer vortec on the one i have and it pulls strong past 6000
