I am repairing my bed floor and have found four or five rust spots in the bed of my fifth generation EC. As a result I am looking to purchase a piece of good bed say 1' x 1' to as big as 2' x2'. My intention is to create patch panels from the good bed and then weld then into the existing bed. Its ok if the paint is still on the bed. I would prefer if the section is cut with a wiz wheel, air chisel or shear rather than a torch (as the torch hardens the metal and makes it difficult to work with). Please e-mail me at [email protected].

Many thanks,

Peter

The inside panel of the tailgate has the same pattern in the metal, will work just fine as patches for the bed floor. It's easier to find a tailgate for this, cause the outer metal can be all beat up, and you can still use the inner for patching the floor.

I put in flat metal and bent the pitched out of sections with a brake.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have not gone the fabrication route because I am unsure of the gauge of steel in the bed. Any ideas of the gauge of steel used in the EC bed?
