Watching the Auctions and Listings for El Camino sales

I like to watch the car auctions on line ( Mecum, Barrett-Jackson, Bring a Trailer, Auto Hunter, Hagerty, etc ). We have a vested interest in all things El Camino and it's interesting to watch how the market is performing. It's also interesting to see the restorations and modifications being done.

HERE is an interesting '70 SS LS6 at Mecum Indy crossing the block Sat 5/20.

HERE is the link to current listings and results on Bring a Trailer.

HERE is a Hagerty listing for a '72 El Camino "Drop Top" Resto-mod.

If you come across an interesting listing anywhere please share a link and or a pic on this thread.

Barrett-Jackson is great listening to mike joy and Steve magnante on TV. So many times the background noise is so loud i can hardly hear them. And they know so much about these these classics.
I DVR them and Mecum auctions.
I can fly through the commercials and the cars that have no interest to me.

I don't DVR the auctions but I review the daily lots before and note the lot #s I'm particularly interested in and check results sometime after. For the online auctions I set alerts and get an email whenever a model I'm interested in is listed, then I can choose to "Watch" and get updates from Bring a Trailer. The info BAT provides through their auction comments is very interesting and often very detailed not only about the model being auctioned but specifically that particular listing and the discourse with that particular seller.

I bought my '69 from the online auction site run by Classic Cars.com called Auto Hunter.com which does not generate as much discourse from bidders / watchers but the seller did provide a pretty good description of the build.
Jim , thanks for the post and the links you sent me on the 59 Caminos that I am interested in looking at and reading about . I enjoy seeing what the sellers have either done to modify their ride or left stock . I love the imanagination and talent that people have . It also helps me to figure out some of the small parts my 59 may be missing and what I may want to do to mine at some point . Pricing of these rides is interesting to read what the sellers hope to get for their Caminos . Some are fairly priced while others have the thought that it will pay for their kids college fund . The ones that I feel are the best ads are the ones that give lots of info and have photos and video ; especially , a view of what it looks like underneath the car . Hemmings , where I purchased my 59 from is my favorite site .
Good Morning Lenny,

I forgot to include Hemmings! They do an awesome job with their listings. I like this one with a great video HERE.
However it leaves me thinking I may have more into mine than I should, but that isn't what it's all about with me. I'm not really on any specific budget with this toy and have a few more issues to resolve that of course means more $$$. My neighbor suggested I name the El Camino 401Kamino LOL!

BTW, is your '59 on the way to Clearwater???

We love the views on these cars , so please keep them coming . That 69 is a well done ride that I would love to drive . It`s always interesting to see the talent and imagination that people put into their rides ; regardless , of the year and model . Waiting to hear back from Mercury Transport when they can ship my 59 up to Clearwater . The shop , Gearhead Performance at www.Gearheadperformance.net , is going to remove the 327 stroker and Tremec T56 six speed and install a new Blueprint 350 with a Holley Sniper throttle body injection unit and 700R4 auto trans . Supporting fuel system , new driveshaft and a few other things will also be done . I drive enough miles that a cruiser motor that recommends 87 octane is what I need . I`m really gonna miss the sound , feel and power that it has with the 327 engine and manual trans . Not sure what I will do with the replaced motor and trans as they really run well . I agree that sometimes we put enough of our money into our rides that defies common sense but we are not gonna live forever ;)
