My 1981 was rusted out along the bottom of the rear glass, as they tend to do. Had a few one inch holes and a lot of cancer. Tried welding it up with a lot of aggravation. Then I changed my welding wire from .030 which comes with every machine to .023. Wow what a difference.

Yes, .023 for sheetmetal. I won't even think about .030 unless I'm doing a project with a lot of welding 1/4" plus.
