Hello,
Monday my 84 El Co is going in the shop to change out the 2.41 peg leg for a 3.08 posi. I purchased a used GM Auburn on Ebay for 100.00. If it is no good, the shop is going to install a new Detroit tru trac posi. Also putting on a rear sway bar.
Currently my speedo reads about 3 mph too fast across the board. With this gear change, how much will the speedo be off now. Tranny for now is a TH250c and works good. How hard is it to change the speedo gear on that tranny?

My Detroit tru trac was like $500 if I remember correctly so good score on the $100. It's not that hard to get it calibrated, the shop that is installing it can probably do it. The biggest "Change" you are going to notice is more pick up down low and a drop in your MPGs. 2.41s are nice highway gears.
