What have you done to your El Camino today!

I'm a member of another forum that has a thread similar to this one. I'd like to start one here. It's been great over there, seeing all the projects other guys are up to every day! Anything goes as long as it's something you've done to your Elky. Pictures are always a plus if possible.

I'll go 1st. Today I took my elky to the shop next door and had my air conditioning fixed. It had a leaky hose. The hose is replaced, the system is charged, and now it's blowing nice and cold!

Yesterday I took Stella out to my barn, 20 miles or so. It was overcast and dreary, but was dry. Today she gets a clean out, (dirty from the barn) and a spot dry wash. Not sure what I'll do after, but it will involve taking her out for a drive.

Installed the UMI Performance Front Reinforcement Brace. Pricey, red and came with all of the required grade 8 fasteners to install it in just a few minutes.

I haven't driven it yet, after installing the chassis brace. It costs $290 on Amazon. I've had it in my (save for later) cart for over a year.
I didn't know Amazon allowed 4 equal payments, no interest

@Caballero Joe Don't forget @EL S ONE Terry ran gymkhana type races with the silver tuna.
He is a good source for spending even more on suspension improvements.

I know! His truck is very nice & I'm sure it handles well. I don't think my wife would want him to influence me to spend more. She thinks I spend enough without help

Changed out the driver's side header gasket. I had regarded it as the easier side to change.
I didn't realize I was going to remove & replace the power steering pump and A/C compressor in the process. I used a copper gasket this time. It's not likely to leak.

I got to drive my truck again today after installing the lower chassis brace & changed out the driver's side header gasket.
I purchased the lower chassis brace after reading they were installed on Regal T-top models to reduce excessive vibration and part of the F-41 package.
My issue was 2 fold:
1 Under acceleration I would have an annoying vibration in the steering column (in my otherwise very quiet interior) that my passenger would often comment on.
2 At hiway speed the forward corners of my hood appeared to be flapping in the wind, relative to the fenders

I'm happy to report that the installation of the lower chassis brace significantlly reduced or eliminated the two chief complaints. It was worth the money to me!

The silver colored product can help quiet passenger compartments.
It has multiple applications.
It can hold your rattling glove compartment door closed too.

Installed the gas tank in the pacecar. It snowed over a foot here today. Now the wind has taken over. Long winter this year.

I've seen hood/display props at several car shows over the years so I decided to make my own. Cut a pine board to size and covered it with denim. Will see if it gets any attention at Saturday's show.

Installed the left side side exhaust cover. Hand laid fiberglass. A Choo Choo option. The entire exhaust system looks custom as well. Kinda' loud on a long trip. Just like the corvette with side pipes.

Eliminated the bed rail trim on the quarters and tailgate. I think I got some good minor hearing loss from all the grinding...lol
