What have you done to your El Camino today!

I'm a member of another forum that has a thread similar to this one. I'd like to start one here. It's been great over there, seeing all the projects other guys are up to every day! Anything goes as long as it's something you've done to your Elky. Pictures are always a plus if possible.

I'll go 1st. Today I took my elky to the shop next door and had my air conditioning fixed. It had a leaky hose. The hose is replaced, the system is charged, and now it's blowing nice and cold!

Replaced the 2.56 open rear end with a 3.08 posi.... Posi may be shot. It clunked a little when taking the corners.
I used the additive. It’s been sitting a long time. I haven’t tried reverse figure 8s in the school parking lot yet. That usually fixes them.
Well the chatter and grab got bad enough that I decided to do something about it. I suctioned 16 ounces of nasty goo out of the rear end. Added a tube of additive and about 8 ounces of clean gear oil and took it to a parking lot for reverse figure eights until my head was spinning. Came back home suctioned as much out as I could and added a tube of additive and clean gear oil until it ran out the fill hole (1.75 quarts). All fixed, rear end is nice and quiet. Now back to dreaming about enough power to do a burnout...

"Inside the fuel tank"....
And here I am sure that the elky isn't even closely related to the Pinto...

Pinto ???
It was original 4,3 liter v6 tank fi fuel sending unit, but the connector could not handle the bigger pump current

Man, I like your work. I'm looking forward to seeing your truck when you're happy with the results.
We may have to take a roadtrip to see it in person. Keep up the good work, make it your own

Tried swapping out fuel filter out only to discover I got the wrong 1. I guess while doing this I must have dislodged some debris and it kept letting fuel thru making it go from running crappy to very bad. Swapped out the carb with another that I pulled off a 360 and so far it seems to be running much better. Still not prefect but it definitely seems to have its low end torque back. Had this carb for 7 years and who knows how long it sat on the 360 before that. I knew nothing about it other than it wasn't seized. Who knew it would come in handy?

FINALLY took the time to properly set my rear pinion angle. When I first swapped to the T56 I was working off of jack stands and had no idea just how far off I was. It had a slight driveline vibration when you’d get up around 75 MPH. Now that I have lifts again I finally cleared out enough other projects so that I could spend some time with the El Camino. I’m embarrassed to admit that I had the pinion angle off by almost 3°!

Now it’s properly set and I took a nice cruise on the freeway. I might or might not have cruised along at 125 MPH for a bit. ZERO vibration now. I can’t believe it has taken me so long to get to this issue.

Glad you figured it out, with awesome results.
Wow, a whopping 3°, that's what? A whole 1/4" give or take? Crazy how something so small can have such a large affect.
I have that same annoying vibration issue decelerating from +75. I'm not sure where mine is coming from. Congratulations on locating & correcting yours

Initially I “tried to” set mine about 1° down as I’ve done with every other car in my history. But the rigid (Delrin) bushings don’t allow for any significant pinion angle change under acceleration. This time I just zeroed the angle to match the transmission output shaft and all is well. This car has gone from TH-400, then TH-350 & 12-bolt rear to TH-400 with 3.00 9” rear, then T56 with the same rear, then a swap to 3.70 rear gears. I’m not even sure how many times I’ve built crossmembers or adjusted the rear pinion angle. Thankfully I’m done swapping parts. I recently got rid of another project car so I can again concentrate on ”finishing” the El Camino. This vibration was literally the only “issue” that I was having. Every future project will only consist of improvements.
