There are a lot of factors to consider when installing a cam . If you are looking for low end or top end performance ? or are you looking for fuel consumption ? If you are looking for serious performance other components like torque converter , gears , heads , intake , carburator have to be addressed . I personally like lunati voodoo camshafts , I have tried lots of different cams over the years but really like the lunati over any other camshaft that I have ever tried.
I agree with that for sure.....low compression engine, like 8.5 to 1 wont like any more than a 260 degree cam, mostly because of the late intake valve closing/timing on the compression stroke, losing some cylinder pressure.
You didn't mention if your engine is stock etc....
