Poking around on Summit Racing I see that their basic engines are "Goodwrench" models.

195 HP, and 260 HP.

I have one or the other in my '78, how do I determine which I have?

Carb is out of tune for my current altitude, at lower altitude where the carb is right I have to drive fairly carefully to avoid lighting the tires at every stop.

Pad # is 2M0628

Found the stamped engine pad number, 2M0628.

Nothing like that found on any engine identification sites.

No, stamped on pad in front of left cylinder bank.

Did you get this # from the back on top of the Engine
No, stamped on the pad in front of the passenger side cylinder bank.
Attempts to look it up all seem to insist on more digits.

As near as I can tell, it was made in Mexico, in 2008.
What I was hoping for was a way to determine if it is the low or high horse version.

Runs really strong at lower altitude, here at 6500', not so much. :poke:
