I just purchased a new R4 Compressor. However, my car was originally an A6 and this is what I have the hoses for. Both the original setup and the new setup are mounted on the driver side. Will my old hoses fit directly onto the R4? Or will they need to be adapted over somehow.

I think it will bolt up and seal,
plenty of manifold adapters out there fit the A6, R4, and some Sanden too..

but if it will fit nicely?? depending on the clocking/different position of the compressor, I don't know..
the short hi-side hose on the driver side can be a PITA to deal with,, without some 90*s..

it would be a prefect opportunity to go with a custom swivel manifold adapter and hoses,,
in most cases, you can make them fit so much better, and rout them better than the factory hoses..

make it where you can lay the compressor over on the fender-well for big maintenance jobs,
sometimes all you can do is hang it from the hood, makes test-drives harder without
kinking/pulling/bending the lines on the factory manifold assembly....
.
back in the old days
there was some talk about the R12 hoses not having the same barrier liner
as the R134 hoses, that let them seep.. and the higher pressures too..
it seems like the newer hose doesn't have to be big, hard, stiff like the old stuff..
