I have a 1980 Chevy El Camino Conquesta, with a 305.

My father has recently refurred to my car as a "firey death trap" and told me I needs to replace the hareness in the engine compartment. There is also more work i need done like: replaceign the steering column and replacement of the alternator, I stearing pump, and afew other things, but im mostly interested in how much it would cost for the harness replacement (the only thing im not confident enough to do myself.)

If any of you have any idea please let me know.

There's actually two harness's under the hood off the fuse box. One for the lights etc and one for the engine...alternator/starter etc. Were you looking to replace both of them?

I just want it to be stop being refured to as driving a "firey death trap" and be able to drive the people whom I want to (my girlfriend is not allowed in the car because of the "bad wires") so I would think it would be easier to do both just to shut people up.
