Just curious as I know the rest of the parts won't be of any use. Let me know if you have any insight, thanks!

The most optimistic answer would be maybe, with the likely need for modification. Most front yokes have the same splines and will fit from trans to trans, I have a 2004r yoke in a 4l60e. The modification part begins right after that. I would guess(but just a guess) that the 74 drive shaft will be too long, which is the best problem to have when modifying a shaft. The U joints will probably be the same size but I'm sure someone here will know for sure. So, basically, back to maybe. You have to be careful that the length is correct otherwise the transmission could be damaged by too long or too short. Hope this helps.

not enuff info,, to know if a 74 DS would fit in another 74,,
with different transmission lengths,
400 yoke is bigger,,
and maybe rear end options..

 I was speculating about the average driveline and the outside chance that the 74 might be t350 and the 79 could also be, This is why the word maybe got thrown out more than once. Same thought on the diff being average and not a one off option.
