Yes, definitely rust. Clear title? Take a look at the good catalogs for 1966 parts: Original Parts Group, National Parts Depot, Classic Industries, Eckler's and Ground Up SS396. If this candidate 66 truck is missing things that are important to you, are they available as reproduction parts??

Some of these vehicles back then were a one and done, one year only body style - parts can be hard to come by.

Jake - there is SO MUCH wisdom in your words above. Unless somebody has the insanity like I have to have done this kind of automotive rescue not once but twice - 70 El Camino and now again underway with a 70 Pontiac Catalina convertible - I don't recommend it. Just buy one already done by somebody else - this will save you money and get you into a presentable, drivable EC sooner.
