door weights

Here's another item for the BS section. I weighed one of my doors today ('75, 4th gen) and it tipped the scales at 115 lbs. Not too surprising, since we were guessing around 85 to 100 lbs the last time this was brought up. And that's without the interior door panel.
I have to have help to move a door around these days. It increases the pucker factor too much.:smileyb:
Kinda wondered what the other generation doors weigh.

That's about my guess for a 5th gen, if i ever get the doors off again i'll have to actually weigh it.

Ever measure the length of the door on a 5th gen. My 1980 doors are 48 inches long!!!!!

Reading that made me curious Bob, and I went out and measured the door, and wow! 59 1/4" long!! No wonder the dam thing is so heavy.
Easy to understand why the hinge bushings and pins wear out.

A friend has the roll-around stand for removing/installing doors. I'll be using it for these for sure. I removed mine with a strap around the middle, and the cherry-picker engine hoist.

yea the 5th gens had the small doors haha @ 4'. 3rd and 4th seem to have the longest doors outta all.... just means more fun swapping em out!

got me wondering how long mine are on my 72 so i wnent and measured them there 57" long i wonder how much they weigh
