Hey guys! As some of you know, I recently picked up a Cron Vic crossmember and a 200-4R. I crawled under my El Camino and started thinking that this might be a bigger job than I thought. I just wanna make sure I have all my ducks in a row before I even loosen one bolt. Heres how I plan on doin this:
Part 1:
Remove exhaust
Remove/loosen all wires and lines attached to tranny
Remove driveshaft
Put jack under tranny and lift slightly
Remove tranny crossmember
Remove bellhousing bolts
Carefully lower tranny
Part 2:
Put 200-4R on jack and roll into place
Jack-up carefully into position
Attach bellhousing bolts
Install Crown Vic crossmember & bolt in
Reinstall driveshaft
Reinstall all wires and lines
Reinstall exhaust
Wait a few years until I can afford a lock-up control module
Vua-la!
Does the Crown Vic crossmember need to be fabbed any? It looks nothing like my old one. Its very hard to believe its gonna just be a direct bolt in. Thanks guys!
